LandMark Project
Mobility's flagship landmark project is the 6.1 km long six-lane Second Vivekananda Bridge (SVB) Tollway on NH-2 - including the iconic 880 m long Nivedita Bridge across the River Hooghly near Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), in the state of West Bengal, India. Mobility, and its founder, have been associated with this project since its inception, including planning and feasibility alignment, bidding, project development, land acquisition, rehabilitation & relocation, enviromental approvals, followed by financing, design, construction, operations and maintenance.
Some of the salient attributes of the SVB Tollway are :
- India’s largest Bridge Tollway built on a BOT basis, with the largest Foreign Direct Investment in Eastern India in the transport sector. Total project cost, all-inclusive, exceeds Rs. 10,000 million (US$ 150 million).
- Critical missing link of India’s Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) providing major connectivity between NH-2, NH-5 and NH-6 in the western India with NH-34 and NH-35 in the eastern India
- Fast & efficient 6-kms, 6-lane link between twin cities of Kolkata & Howrah across the River Hooghly, adjoining the major landmark Dakshineshwar Temple
- Seamless drive from the Kolkata Airport to Howrah, Dankuni, Singur, Burdwan & Durgapur on the 8-kms, 4-lane Belghoria Expressway and across the 6-kms SVB Tollway
- Holder of two World Records as world’s first single-plane multi-span extradosed cable stayed bridge built by an international consortium in record time of 39-months. National icon, which has won the prestigious International Award for Excellence in 2007 from the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI)
- India’s first Bridge Tollway to be granted a AA+(SO)/Stable Rating (CRISIL-S&P), having completed twelve years of successful commercial operations and exceeding average daily traffic of 25,000 vehicles.
